Salona 42


Designed by J&J Design Studio, the Salona 42 is the latest addition to the Salona range. This new design offers higher average cruising speeds, combined with more comfort and stability. Available in four different layout options, the standard offers a three-cabin accommodation allowing six to sleep in comfort, without using the saloon.

HULL
Handlaminated GRP
White (isophtalic) gelcoat incorporates blue decorative bands
First layers: laminated with isopthalic polyester resin, insuring the optimal antiosmosis protection
Optimal strenght/weight ratio - achieved by using unidirectional, biaxial and triaxial glass fibres
Sandwich construction under & above water line; core material is PVC (closed cells)
Internal construction/reinforcement: stainless steel grid, bonded to the hull by using a special acrylic glue, taking
keel and rigging loads and ensuring high longitudinal and transversal stiffness of hull
Inner moulded hull bottom, bonded to the hull (also) by using a special acrylic glue; structural framing laminated to the hull

Deck
Handlaminated GRP
Sandwich construction; core material is PVC (closed cells)
First layers: laminated with isopthalic polyester resin, insuring the optimal antiosmosis protection
Optimal strenght/weight ratio - achieved by using unidirectional, biaxial and triaxial glass fibres
Stress areas (where winches and major deck fittings are fixed) reinforced by replacing PVC core with plywood

Bulkheads
Solid laminate is used for the joint between bulkheads and hull/deck
Watertight stern and bow bulkhead

Deck to Hull joining
Hull and deck are bonded together (by using a special acrylic glue), also bolted in high stress areas
The (teak) toe rail is bolted through deck and hull flange, also with using a special sealing material
