Salona 40

The Salona 40 is designed by J&J Design studio and follows the same concept as her bigger sister, the Salona 45. The Salona 40 can be outfitted with a cruising or racing options that will allow her to sail fast and win races.

The equipment on the boat comes from the world's leading marine products manufacturers Harken, Lewmar, Sparcraft, Volvo, Yanmar.

HULL
Handlaminated GRP
White (isophtalic) gelcoat incorporates blue decorative bands
First layers: laminated with isopthalic polyester resin, insuring the optimal antiosmosis protection
Optimal strenght/weight ratio - achieved by using unidirectional, biaxial and triaxial glass fibres
Sandwich construction above water line; core material is PVC (closed cells)
Handlaminated marine plywood structural frames, longitudinals and reinforcements
Additional bottom reinforcements (longitudinal and transversal solid laminate) in high stress areas - around keel, mast foot

Deck
Handlaminated GRP

Bulkheads

Deck to Hull joining
Hull and deck are glued (by using special polyester filler) and bolted together
The (teak) toe rail is bolted through deck and hull flange, also using a special sealing material

Invisible Hull sides, Bottom, Bilge etc. are topcoated
Solid Mahogany is used for door frames, handrails etc.
All Mahogany is varnished with oil varnish in satin finish
All windows are equipped with curtains except aft cabin Portlights which are supplied with push button blinds
